London Bridge Station luggage storage

About London Bridge Station

London Bridge Station is a major rail terminus in Southeast London. As well as being a Tube station, it’s served by overground rail services making it an important part of London's dense public transport infrastructure. The station takes its name from the nearby London Bridge, and is the 4th busiest station in the UK. To put that into context, on average this station sees over 50 million passengers a year, making it a very busy place.

It's the oldest railway station in the area, and also one of the oldest in the world. It was in 1836 that we saw this station near the current London Bridge built, and it’s been serving Londoners for almost 200 years now. In that time, it’s undergone several renovations and expansions to make it into the bustling station it is today. The station has not been without controversy, though. Here’s a fun fact; back when it was first opened in 1836, the station caused a scandal. The height of the platforms relative to the trains meant that women risked showing an unacceptable amount of ankle as they stepped down from the trains into the station.

Thanks to its location in Central London, the station is a good starting point for those looking to explore the city’s top sights. Before you head out into town, remember to download the Bounce luggage storage app so you can have easy access to all of our convenient locations.
